Sun-bathing is one of the essential chicken behaviors. You will see them laying on their sides in a warm and sunny spot with a leg and a wing stretched out. At first, you may think they are dead! But they are actually enjoying themselves very much. Sun-bathing is how chickens absorb vitamin D, and it is also a social activity they like to do in a group.
