Happy to report that we survived the holiday weekend without any trauma!
New Year and Independence Day's fireworks are very scary for a lot of animals (humans included). Last year, it was one of the triggers that got Skye affraid of the house and sent her to sleep outside for more than a month.
This time, we were prepared and started drugging (*) her every night of the long weekend with an extra dose yesterday evening. And it worked! She didn't over react to any of the loud noises, and was able to stay relax and even sleep through it.
(*) We used a combination of trazodone and gabapentin.
