The collar training has been slow, but little breakthroughs like this one are very rewarding. It gives me hope that someday she will wear a collar.
In addition to desensitizing Skye to having a collar on her neck, we are working on getting her to put her head through it. Here is our current status:
In the first try, you will notice that I don't reward her right away. That is done on purpose so she has the opportunity to put her head even further in the loop. Right now, I am rewarding any behavior she offers in relation with the collar to encourage her trying different things versus walking away frustrated.
