I took this picture of Skye without noticing the shadow of the chickens' fence on her face. I was going to delete it but the composition on the photo struck me.
You see a physically healthy beautiful dog in a home with a big yard, the sun is shining, all indicating freedom and happiness. What you usually don't see is the trauma she has deep inside. The shadow of the wire fence reminds us that she is not totally free. Despite all the love and work we are doing with her, she will always carry the trauma she endured at the dog meat farm.
