Skye thinks mats are lava! She does everything she can to avoid putting her paws on it. She only trusts an old bed and a very old mat from our previous dog, and doesn't want to have anything to do with her new bed or even a towel we would put on the floor...
Here I am trying to desensitize her to the mat that is in her new soft crate. I got her to put her paw once on it, but I think it was more of a fluke.
PS: I tried to put the scent of another dog on her new bed (a friend's dog spent one week sleeping on it). She sniffed it with lots of interest, but didn't go on it...
