Tonight is the largest supermoon of the year. A supermoon is a full moon that coincides with the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit. It results in a moon shining about 16% brighter and appearing 6% larger than an average full moon.
We didn't have to wait till tonight to experience its effect. Last night, Skye kept us up all night long!
